About Jason Nappi

Meteorologist • Digital Strategist • Crisis Communicator

Jason Nappi is an American Meteorological Society Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM #627), digital media leader and founder of Jason Nappi Weather, an independent weather platform serving Maine and New England.

For more than 24 years, Jason has helped audiences understand high-impact weather across television, streaming, social media, web and mobile platforms. His experience combines live severe-weather coverage, crisis communication, digital audience growth and the development of mobile and subscription-based weather products.

Experience Built in High-Impact Weather

Jason began his television career in 2002 and has worked at stations across New York, New England, Appalachia, the Carolinas and the Gulf Coast.

While working at WCSH-TV/WLBZ-TV in Portland and Bangor, Jason developed audience-first digital communication strategies that generated more than 10 million impressions across broadcast, streaming, social media and digital platforms. His weather explainers generated more than 650,000 views, and his Hurricane Lee coverage reached YouTube’s worldwide trending list.

As chief meteorologist at KADN-TV/KLAF-TV in Lafayette, Louisiana, Jason led live coverage and multi-platform public communication during hurricanes, tornado outbreaks, flash flooding and other rapidly changing emergencies. His Gulf Coast experience included Hurricanes Laura, Delta and Ida.

Throughout his career, Jason has focused on making complicated information clear, relatable and useful—especially when people are making important decisions for their families, businesses and communities.

Building Jason Nappi Weather

Jason founded Jason Nappi Weather in December 2024, transforming an established social media audience into an independent digital weather platform serving Maine and New England.

Today, Jason Nappi Weather reaches its audience through Facebook, JasonNappiWeather.com, the free Jason Nappi Weather App, email, YouTube and premium subscriber content.

The platform has grown to include:

  • 79K+ Facebook followers

  • 14M+ monthly Facebook views

  • 3,500+ weather-app downloads

  • Approximately 9,700 monthly website visitors

  • More than 300 premium subscribers

The Jason Nappi Weather App launched in June 2026 and provides interactive radar, alerts, forecast videos, storm information and Maine-focused resources. Premium members receive daily regional 10-day forecasts for Maine’s Coast, Inland communities and Mountains, along with additional forecast videos and storm analysis.

Jason also develops advertising and sponsorship opportunities that connect Maine businesses with a highly engaged regional audience.

More Than a Forecast

Jason’s approach is audience-first: explain what may happen, when it may happen, who could be affected, how confident the forecast is and what people need to know next.
